Ash and beech are both light-colored woods. Often used as accents in darker floors, they also make fine stand-alone flooring choices.

Ash can resemble oak quite closely, but it is lighter and more uniform in color and has a more muted grain. It would make an excellent floor for an art display or other situations where a high quality, but not eye-catching, background is needed.

Beech has a warm, ripe-wheat color than looks best in open, well-lit, environments with an air of relaxed elegance.
